What's happening?


Näkymä exhibition

The 10th public art exhibition, Näkymä, is organized in the surroundings of the Akaa city on the 30th of June - the 31th of August 2012. The organizers are Town of Akaa (www.akaa.fi) and TaideAkaa ry (www.taideakaa.fi). Näkymästä vetovoimaa 2012-2013 project initiated in autumn 2012. The project aims at developing the exhibition and increasing its popularity. The project is financed by EAFRD (European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development).

All event planners can notify the Arts Coordinator about an upcoming event by email or by filling out the electronic form and all the events in Akaa you may find at the Tapahtumakalenteri (both in Finnish only).



Cultural Affairs Work Group


The cultural activity of our town is co-organised by the cultural services governed by the Recreation Board, the town’s libraries, the adult education centre and the various active organizations and associations of the town of Akaa.

The Cultural Affairs Work Group is a joint institution of the town of Akaa and its cultural organizations. Its goal is to develop cultural activity and activate non-governmental organizations.

The town’s cultural life is vivid and colourful, thanks to active culture aficionados in all fields of art. Unique cultural experiences and different events are organized all year round.

The chairman of the Cultural Affairs Work Group of the town of Akaa is chosen at every year’s first meeting in March. The post is currently occupied by Mikko Peltoniemi, the chairman of Almu ry organization.



Kulttis group


The Kulttis group aims to develop children and youth culture in Akaa. The members of the group include teachers, staff of daycare centres, representatives of different organizations, and other members of the public who are interested in the matter. We welcome you to join us!
